Crossing communities

A Crossing Community is a group of people committed to greatness as Jesus defines it. “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” Matthew 20:26

In our Crossing Communities, we are committed to obeying the Great Commands and Great Commission

The Great Commandment

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.

- Matthew 22:37-39

The Great Commission

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

- Matthew 28:19-20

In Crossing Communities, we are committed to creating a safe space for wounded sinners.

We believe that community is one of the most important elements to a healthy spiritual walk. It is one of the first steps on the Discipleship Pathway, where we learn how to love one another, encourage one another, exhort one another, etc.

In a Crossing Community, we eat with one another. We pray for and with one another. We read scripture with one another. We share our lives with one another. We share the gospel with our community. We serve the last, least, and lost of our community.

How can you be involved?

Beginning in the fall of 2024, our Crossing Communities will gather in semesters. During the semester the CC will discover biblical truths together for eight weeks and then our church will come together for various ministry service projects at the end of the semester. Some of our CC’s continue to have an ongoing common mission to reach the last, least, and lost of our community.

Join a Crossing Community

Joining a Crossing Community is one of the primary ways to get connected into the life of our church, learn from fellow believers, and begin to obey the Great Commission of taking the good news of Jesus to our lost community. We have simple requirements and expectations for anyone interested in joining a Crossing Community. Read our Participant Guide.

Each semester we will have a 4-6 week open enrollment period. If you are not currently in a group, or if you are considering changing groups, you can express your interest in joining a group using the link below. During those open enrollment periods, one of our staff or a Crossing Community Leader may reach out to you to help you get connected to a group.

Start a Crossing Community

Maybe you feel like you are ready to start your own Crossing Community! Most often our Crossing Communities are started out of multiplying from an existing CC. Whether you’re currently in a CC that wants to multiply or you simply are interested in starting one, we want to hear from you!

To help you know if you might be ready to lead a Crossing Community, here are the qualifications and expectations of all Crossing Community Leaders. Read our CC Leader Expectations and Qualifications.

After you have read that, if you are interested in having a conversation about potentially starting a CC, you can fill out this form below!
