Meeting Together

As you consider meeting together, here are a few recommendations.

  1. If you do not feel comfortable gathering with your Missional Community (MC) during this time, we completely understand. Your well-being is of utmost importance to us. If you choose not to gather with your MC, please think of other creative ways to connect with your group. Use GroupMe, phone calls, text, etc.

  2. Encourage kindness! You or others in your MC may be experiencing high levels of anxiety right now. You or others may think that people are over-reacting. Whether this is the case or not, now is not the time for judgment, but compassion.

  3. If you or anyone in your house is experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms do not attend your MC gathering. Anyone who is symptomatic will be asked to leave their MC gathering until symptoms have stopped.

  4. Host homes are being provided with cleaning supplies to ensure their surfaces and door knobs have been wiped down and cleaned. As always, we ask that the MC assist their host homes in cleaning before they leave.

  5. Take extra precautions with meals. Avoid sharing open containers, chip bags, etc. Utilize individually wrapped snacks or have one person serve the group.

  6. Encourage people to foot bump, forearm smash, air high-five, etc, instead of shaking hands or hugging.

  7. Most importantly, BE THE CHURCH! Worship together. Listen to each other. Read the Scriptures and pray together. Look for creative ways to serve. Share that stockpile of toilet paper with the person who has actually run out of it. Organize ways to help get groceries for the most vulnerable to this virus.

  8. Finally, if there is anything you need, please let your MC leaders or pastors know. We are happy to help.
