Cross Shaped community
What does it actually look like to follow Jesus together?
In a culture marked by isolation, image management, and individualism, the way of Jesus offers something different—a community shaped by truth, humility, consistency, and mercy. This series explores the kind of people we are becoming and the kind of relationships we are called to build. Not a perfect community, but a transformed one. One that reflects the heart of Jesus and invites us into deeper connection with God and with one another.
Week 1 | Family
You can be surrounded by people and still feel completely alone.
In a culture shaped by busyness, independence, and constant connection, many of us feel unseen and disconnected. In this message, we explore how Jesus redefined family, why private faith falls short, and why the kind of community He created is not optional, but essential.
Week 2 | Authenticity
Most of us are better at looking fine than actually being fine.
We hide our struggles, manage our image, and try to stay in control, but underneath, many of us feel stuck and exhausted. This message invites us to step out of hiding and into honesty, discovering that real peace isn’t found in trying harder, but in telling the truth about what’s really going on within us.
Week 3 | Accountability
We all have blind spots, areas where we think we’re doing fine, but others can see what we can’t.
Without honest input and correction, growth becomes limited. In this message, we look at why accountability is necessary for becoming who we’re called to be, and how the right kind of community helps us see clearly and grow faithfully.
Week 4 | Humility
Why do we quietly compare, measure, and seek recognition?
Jesus told a story about people competing for places of honor, but He was ultimately revealing something deeper about the human heart. This message explores how pride subtly shapes us, and how humility opens the door to a different kind of life in the Kingdom of God.
Week 5 | Consistency
We are often drawn to what’s new, exciting, and impressive.
But while those things spark temporary motivation, they rarely produce lasting change. This message reminds us that real transformation is not formed by what is flashy, but by what is faithful, choosing to remain committed to the right things long enough for them to shape us.
Week 6 | Mercy
Many of us carry wounds that never fully healed.
Whether from betrayal, loss, or deep hurt, forgiveness can feel impossible—or even undeserved. In this closing message of The Cross Shaped Community, we look at the mercy of Jesus on the cross and discover how forgiveness is not about excusing the past, but about freeing the heart and opening the way to healing.
